About 5 minutes by car from the Uchinomi district lined with soy-sauce breweries, this single-storey wooden house (built 1953) stands in a hamlet surrounded by mandarin orchards. The ibushi-gawara tiled roof and thick beams remain intact, and the south-facing engawa looks out over the Seto Inland Sea and olive groves.
The water areas need renovation, but the roof and pillars are in good condition. The adjoining field (about 60m2) can be used together with the house, making it well suited to a move with a kitchen garden, or to use as a whole-house guesthouse.
